Book One: Twilight
Summary:
Twilight is the story of Isabella Swan, a 17 year old girl who moves to Forks, Washington to live with her divorced father, Charlie. Moving to Forks is a big sacrifice for Isabella, who has spent many a miserable summer in Forks, the rainiest, gloomiest place on Earth. Isabella makes this sacrifice in order to allow her mother to spend time on the road with her new husband, Phil, a minor league baseball player. Upon Bella's arrival in Forks she finds herself highly sought after by several boys in her class. Bella has no interest in any of the boys until she lays eyes on Edward Cullen, a gorgeous and pale classmate. Bella is mesmerized by Edward's beauty and his overwhelming magnetism. Bella discovers that Edward and his four adopted siblings are quite mysterious and do not associate with their classmates. Having been adopted by a young doctor and his wife, the Cullens live on the outskirts of town and keep to themselves. Bella is surprised by Edward's hostility toward her, which borders on hatred. When Edward miraculously saves Bella's life by using superhuman strength, Bella begins to realize that Edward is not quite human. After a local Indian boy tells Bella that his tribe believes the Cullens to be vampires, Bella starts to believe that Edward is indeed a vampire. When Edward confirms that he is indeed a vampire, Bella finds herself falling in love with a young man who is constantly waging war against his baser instincts. Although Edward professes his love to Bella he warns her that his presence in her life serves as a constant threat to her life. As Bella and Edward fight to be together they must face a brutal vampire who is hell bent on taking Bella's life.
Review:
Wow. Once I started reading this I couldn't put it down. Literally. I carried it from class to class. My friends didnt get why I loved it so much until they read it themselves. Edward sets a model example for any boyfriend. Girls love it for the romantic moments and boys for the action and suspense.
Book 2: New Moon
Summary:
Bella celebrates her birthday with her boyfriend Edward and his family, a unique clan of vampires that has sworn off human blood. But the celebration abruptly ends when the teen accidentally cuts her arm on broken glass. The sight and smell of her blood trickling away forces the Cullen family to retreat lest they be tempted to make a meal of her. After all is mended, Edward, realizing the danger that he and his family create for Bella, sees no option for her safety but to leave. Mourning his departure, she slips into a downward spiral of depression that penetrates and lingers over her every step. Vampire fans will appreciate the subsequently dour mood that permeates the novel, and it's not until Bella befriends Jacob, a sophomore from her school with a penchant for motorcycles, that both the pace and her disposition begin to take off. Their adventures are wild, dare-devilish, and teeter on the brink of romance, but memories of Edward pervade Bella's emotions, and soon their fun quickly morphs into danger, especially when she uncovers the true identities of Jacob and his pack of friends.
Book 3: Eclipse
Summary:
As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?
This is the much anticipated continuing first person story of Bella Swan, a 17-year-old girl who moved to Forks, Washington and fell in love with vampire Edward Cullen.
Graduation is fast approaching for Bella, and with it, her deadline for becoming a vampire. She's still on the outs with Jacob Black and she's starting to have second thoughts about being changed. Not to mention there are a spree of murders taking place in Seattle and Victoria, the crazed vampire who's been after Bella since Twilight, is still haunting Bella's dreams.
Review:
Bravo. This was my favorite book in the entire series. I especially loved the love triangle, but started to hate Bella a bit when she realized that she loved Jacob as well as Edward. Not that I could blame her, of course. Jacob was there for her all through book 2. I was a sad when It didn't describe Bella becoming a vampire. It's pretty obvious that she was going to though, when you read the letter given to Jacob. I felt pretty sorry for him when I put down a book. I think i'll go petition outside Stephenie Meyer's house for another book.
