Since its initial release "Looking For Alibrandi" has moved on to become the 18th most successful Australian movie at the box office. Roadshow released Looking for Alibrandi onto 173 screens for an estimated audience of one million people.
Looking for Alibrandi grossed $ 8,300,454. It was made on a budget of $4.5 million.

While a number of films have not replicated their domestic success overseas as yet, several of Australia�s major box office successes have only recently sold to international distributors. Among those that have sold and are awaiting release are Chopper, Looking for Alibrandi, My Mother Frank and The Dish.
