| -REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE! -get informed -walk, bike, roller blade, or take bus instead of driving -instead of buying cars that use fuel, buy hybrid cars! -dont leave the faucet running -don't throw batteries into the garbage can -snip 6 pack rings -don't waste gas -try to do all errands at once if driving -try to use products which are labeled "Ozone Friendly" -ensure technicians repairing your refrigerator or air conditioner and recycle the old CFCs so they are not released into the atmosphere -vehicle air conditioning units should regularly be checked for leaks -ask about converting your car to be a substitue refrigerant if the a/c system needs major repair -remove the refrigerant from refrigerators, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers before disposing of them -help start a regrigerant recovery and recycling program in your area if none already exists -replace halon fire extinguishers with alternatives (e.g. carbon dioxide or foam) -sugest school activities to increase awareness of the problem and to initiate local action -don't litter |
