Virginia City Church
This little church is located along the highway at Virgina City, Va.  Built by the families that lived in the  Russell Creek Coal Camp about 1895, they were  of the Presbyterian denomination . About 1922 after it had sat unused for years a missionary by the name of Mary Martin began holding services  in the little white church. My father remembers it as the Mary Martin Church. Services were held there until about 1970. At one time the church sat back on the hill from where it is now. When they began  strip mining in the area it was moved to it's present location.
Mary Martin Church has been added to the National  Registry of Historic places  and Viginia Landmarks. You can find it at the site below.
