GTO Restoration done by:

The 1966 GTO shown in the following pictures, was purchased in June of 2001 in Clarence New York. The owner at that time had owned the car for close to 25 years. The car was in very nice shape for a '66, a good 20 foot car. There was however a few areas that needed work along the bottom on both sides of the car, and near the rear window. The original owner had used it for a daily driver, and despite the second owner faithfully storing and taking excellent care, the body was beginning to show signs of decay. I made the decision to try and correct as much of the body as my budget would allow and bring it back to a "close to original" state. The car has the original 389/335 hp motor with 86M miles. It has a manual 4 speed which I believe is the original but have not yet verified.

The following pictures are some before shots, as well as several taken throughout the restoration process. As you can see, we ultimately decided to replace the quarter panels as well as rocker panels and major sections of the doors and front fenders. The work is being done at Shanley Collision in East Aurora New York. As the process continues, I will add pictures of the progress. As I am writing this, we are close to paint.
