| What's the meaning of Ben's Tattoo? | ||||||||||||||||
| Okay, You ready for this? Here is a little history behind the idea. I've wanted to get a tattoo for a long time but never wanted to put something so perminate on my body. Well I've had a drawing for some time now that I have changed and tinkered with to get it just the way I like it. Here is an out line of the final result. Alot of thought went into this so bear with me. Where is it place on my body? Well it on my back right shoulder blade. Why is it there you may ask? | ||||||||||||||||
| The tattoo sits on the opposite side of my body from my heart. Some- times I make decissions with my heart and some are made with the help of my faith. I wish they could be one in the same but I'm only human and make mistakes. It is a goal of mine in life to have the two coinside. 1- The first letter of my first name is contained in the cross. This makes the cross and my faith personal to me. I am important. 2- This C is placed here for Cora. She is and always will be an important part of my life. She is on the outside of the cross as a reminder to me to always try and surround her with my love and always work towards exposing her to God in different ways. 3- This is symbolic of my heart. It is broken and wounded and will always remain that way. I have to learn to live with this injury and take care of it so that is does not over power my life. It is in the center of the cross because with God's help I can move past the hurt. 4- Those sharp spikes look sorta like a saw blade. I am a builder and love to make new things. It's here to show that this is a passion of mine. 5- This area of the cross looks sorta like an arrow pointing upwards. Up is symbolic of Heven and the place where God lives. I try to move in a direction that puts me in his path. 6- The overall shape of the tattoo is a big bold cross. It's a reminder to me that God always has my back. 7- The cross has many sharp edges and smooth rounded areas. God's love for us is sometimes sharp and abrasive and sometimes smooth and soft. We have no control over what he has planned for our lives. 8- The cross is not simetrical. It is very distorted. The Christian Faith is not neat and perfect. There are hard times and good times. God does not fit neatly into a box and is sometimes hard to understand just like the distortion of this cross. He speaks to people in so many different ways. Your perspective of my cross may be totally different than another persons. That's okay, and that's why my cross is the way it is. 9- Why is my cross brown? Many birth marks come in the color brown. I like to think that I have been branded by God. There you go. Hope you enjoyed the story of my tattoo. Feel free to ask to see it if you like. Later on for now. Ben |
