BELT SYSTEM

 10TH GUP White - signifies the innocence of a beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Taekwon-do        
 9TH GUP Yellow-Tip        
 8TH GUP Yellow - signifies the earth from which a plant sprouts and takes roots as the Taekwon-do foundation is laid        
 7TH GUP Green-Tip        
 6TH GUP Green - signifies the plants growth as the Taekwon-do student's skill begins to develop        
 5TH GUP Blue-Tip        
 4TH GUP Blue - signifies the heaven, towards which the plant matures into a towering tree as the student's training in Taekwon-do progresses        
 3RD GUP Red-Tip        
 2ND GUP Red - signifies danger, cautioning the student to exercise control and warning opponents to stay away        
 1ST GUP Black-Tip        
 Junior Black Black - is the opposite of white, signifying the students maturity and proficiency in Taekwon-do. It also indicates the wearer's imperviousness to darkness and fear
