2005 has come and gone! It never ceases to amaze me how fast hours turn into years. Thankfully, God has been praised during the past hours of 2005. I hope that you too can see how God has been praised through your walk over the last year.

Alicia and I do thank each of you for your love and concern over the last months.  We really thank God for you all. We pray for you and thank God for your interest in His kingdom and your interest in our lives. Words fail me when I think of all the ways that you have blessed our lives.  Please keep serving our King and bringing honor to the Lamb in every way possible.

Over the last few months we have seen some new growth and the power of God working to transform lives.  Back in November the Lord added two new souls to his church, Marta and Silvia. It always interests me to see how God draws people toward him in so many different ways. Marta had only been visiting with us since summertime. She and her children first participated in a VBS put on by the church in Hobbs. Marta quickly learned how our God can forgive all of our past sins and put us on a new path to better lives. Over the next couple of months she soaked up everything she read in the scriptures. Marta couldn’t get to the baptistery fast enough! I’ll never forget her tears of joy over finally being able to have a new life in Christ.

Silvia, on the other hand, took a bit longer to come to the Lord. She had been in contact with folks here even before Alicia and I arrived in 2003. She had been considering obeying the gospel for months but kept having doubts and questions. She, Alicia and I talked and studied about becoming a child of God many times, but there were always reasons not to do it in her mind. Thankfully God removed the doubts! After her baptism I was taking her home and she told me how she contacted folks from the church. She first learned of the church through the Dispensa. There a sister from Montana Vista invited her to a ladies bible class. Silvia told me that she wasn’t at all interested but was a bit board at home. So, to pass the time she’d go to this bible study. Our God has an incredible way to change hearts that do not even realize they need changing. Although it took over 2 years, she learned about God’s grace and the hope that is found only in Christ. So, we never know how individuals will eventually come to know the Lord. Both of the ladies are holding firm in the faith, but have been attacked from every angle by the adversary. PLEASE pray for their growth and for their families and friends to come to Christ.

The Lord has also been at work through our English classes.  For those who may have not heard, we offer free English classes once per week. These consist of one hour of English and one hour of Bible study. So far we’ve had between 3 and 10 students. Of these, several seem very interested in learning about God in addition to English. Please keep these individual in your prayers as well. I can’t wait to see what God does through your prayers!

As always, it was great to see some of you over the holidays.  Unfortunately we couldn’t see all of you. Know that you are in our hearts and prayers. We do look forward to seeing all of you some day—whether on this side or the other of eternity.

In His service,

Kevin, Alicia and Bethany Montgomery
