Montgomery Family Newsletter, April 2004

“For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.” Could the psalmist be any more correct? Indeed our God is good.  As we continue to spend more time with individuals here and get to know more and more people, we see how good God has been to us!  Seeing people in need and lacking certain basic necessities has certainly changed us.  Thankfully, it has also affected many of you.  We’ve been blessed over the last few weeks to receive visits from several dear friends who brought various clothes and household items to be given away here.  Beyond being personal friends and family, these were also representatives of YOU.  Some of those involved were Joe and Marcia Davis of Lubbock, Virgil and Anita Webb (although some may say they simply came to see their beautiful grand-daughter) of Hobbs, and Keith and Dorothy Rall of Hobbs. These are only the deliverers, and we recognize that many of you participated in giving the items, helping collect them, or were, in some way, involved in the process. THANK YOU ALL, and to God be the glory!  Plans are already in the works on how best to use them in the weeks and months to come!  In addition, if you would like to be involved in this process somehow in the future, let us know!

Plans: “Commit your ways to the Lord, and your plans will be established” Prov. 16:3.
As with any endeavor, plans are essential.  We would like to ask your participation in committing our ways/plans to the Lord that they might be established.  Here are some of the activities we are hoping to be involved in over the following months.

1.  Summer plans: We are hoping to have a VBS here some time over the summer holidays.  We would appreciate everyone’s prayers as we plan when and how to best use this method of reaching the neighborhood.  Last year they had over 70 come on one day, so we know there is a great opportunity! Also this summer we hope to take several of our young people to summer camp at Pine Springs during the week Virgil and Anita Webb (Alicia’s parents) are directors there.  As many of you know, camp is such a crucial time in a child’s life and can be so impacting.  Please pray that all the children can go and be greatly impacted by the whole experience.
2.  We would like to begin a men’s discipleship class here and begin helping them mature. Please pray for God to provide opportunity and more men to participate in our studies so they can develop into the leaders of tomorrow.
3.  Open doors to spread the gospel here in the community and methods of reaching more people with the good news as well as breaking down any cultural or linguistic barriers that Satan may be using against us here.  Again we ask you to ask God to open the hearts of the following people to hear the good news and respond (Juan and Haydee, Dan, Clay, Josephina and friends, Veronica and Family, Ernesto and Elodia).

We love you all, may God bless you in your service to the King! Thank you again for your cooperation in the work here in Montana Vista!
Love,
Kevin, Alicia and Bethany Montgomery
