John Milam Sr
- Born: 1610, Berkshire, Warfield Parish, England
- Marriage: Christian
General Notes:
Conflicting records, will check it out soon.
John Milam extensively appears in Boston records 1635-1652. In 1635, he was a cooper by trade. In the 1640's, he became wealthy as a founding member of the cooper guild, mill owner-partner, a land speculator, ship owner-partner, and merchant-shipper. In 1652, he removed from Boston with his entire family, including wife Christian, 6 sons, and 2 daughters. Where he went is a currently unknown.
it is believed he most likely returned to England. He was born in Berkshire in 1611, but he probably went to a port city, since he undoubtedly continued as a merchant-shipper wherever he went. It is known that a couple of his Boston business associates returned to London, and it is suspected that he did too. London would fit very well in the context of post-Civil War England, and with the facts that he was a Puritan, merchant-shipper, and cooper.
John married Christian. (Christian was born about 1614.)
