LONGARD FAMILY PAGE
This page is dedicated to the descendants of Ulrich Langer/Lankert/Longer (Longard) who came to Lunenburg , Nova Scotia, Canada in 1752 on the ship The Betty. ;His descendants in North America now live in many places. Those who lived in the early 1800's ended up living in mainly three places: Tantallon, ;Halifax , and Bayside. Those with whom we have had contact recently can trace their families back to one of these three places.
Reunion 2003

On July 11, 2003, the Longard Family Descendants had a reunion in Lunenburg , Nova Scotia., at the United Church Hall. 65 family members attended and we had a wonderful time. Cousins came from far and near---California, British Columbia, Arizona, Texas, Quebec, Ontario, Vermont, Maryland, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island. There was music and storytelling, swapping of genealogical information and photographs, displays of family hobbies and crafts, and food. It was an enjoyable time and we met so many new people--all of us related.

The Longard Reunion 2003 was part of the Lunenburg Grand Reunion for descendants of the Foreign Protestants who settled Lunenburg. A memorial to these settlers was unveiled on July 12, 2003. Pictures of it are on several of the family pages.
