The District Deputy Grand Master is the
personal representative of the Grand Master to the lodges in his assigned
District. The District Deputy is appointed by the Grand Master to serve a
2 year term of office. Over the course of a District Deputy's term, he
makes numerous visits to the various lodges in his District. Tradition has
it, that the District Deputy's last Fraternal Visitatation is a visit to
his own lodge. On the evening of December 12, 2002 the R.W. Wayne D.
Vangsness, District Deputy Grand Master for the Springfield 33rd Masonic
District, made his last visit as our District Deputy to his lodge,
Longmeadow Lodge. It was a momentous evening as R.W. Wayne had many
visitors from across the state accompany him on this, his last visit. It
was also the last visit of any District Deputy to the Springfield 33rd
Masonic District as the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts will be adopting a
new re-Districting plan come December 27, 2002. Click on any thumbnail photograph to see
