| One of my Great-uncles lives in an area that experiences mudslides. During such an occurance Death is innevitable, as are the stories that follow. One night while my Uncle was away from home his daughter went out into the backyard to wash her face. You see most of the houses had one water source usually found in the backyard for convenience with the laundry. The faucet was attached to a 1-2 Mile long wall assembled to prevent more mudlsides from entering the homes in the area. While she was washing up she had a strange feeling like she was being watched. She looked up from the faucet and saw a man staring down at her from the top of the wall. She could only see his top half becasue the wall was blocking his lower half. She demanded to know who he was and what he wanted. All he said was that He's Thirsty. Not knowing this man or his intentions she ran into the house and got her older brother. Her brother went out the front door hoping to catch the man by surprise. In a matter of a minute he climbed the wall from the front side and made his way towards the area where the man was. There was no one there. It had only been a few minutes but there was no signs of a man at all. Another problem was that there was absolutely no way a person could scale the backside of the wall in that area and nowhere for them to stand at the top for their lower half to be blocked by the wall. Another time my Uncle was returning home after being away on business for a couple of months. It was mudslide season so the buses would only travel so far before stopping for safety reasons. He was dropped some distance from his home and began walking. When he was about 3-4 Miles from home he saw a woman walking with her children and a few other people. He thought company would be well welcomed so he caught up to them and walked alongside the small family. The woman began to hassle him after a while about the lantern he was carrying. She kept requesting him to move it closer to her because, as she said, she "wasn't getting enough light." He did so. After a couple of minutes she would say it again and again. After a while he got tired of her constant demand of the lantern and was about to tell her to either stop or he's keeping the lantern to himself. When he finally had enough of her harassment he looked up from the ground to do so. The woman was gone along with her children and the rest of the group. He was alone on the road. Knowing the stories of the area, he immediately believed he was just walking with ghosts of the mudslides and ran the rest of the way home. -Submitted by: [email protected] |
