sorry about the bad pic on this one but it seems that black is not normally a good picture to put here LOL, anyhow a brief description, 2 turquoise buttons on the front,.. the entire edge was crosslaced the way i normally do it, the silver conchos across the back with copper beads double fringe, inside pockets
the above coat is out of buckskin, laced with dark elkhide as well as the fringe, custom snapheads inside pockets, conchos on the back
the duster below is actually my first piece of work,.. i had no pattern,. i used a old flannel shirt that fit me well to get the basic size and shape, then i just sewed it together and i had a duster, i had always wanted a duster but could never find one that i liked,.. so i said to myself, if i buy the leather i will be forced to make one that i like and that will fit me properly, it took me 2 full elkhides to do this coat, as it takes about that to do a duster, maybe a 3rd for a larger man than myself,.. but i think i wouldnt need any more than that the skirt and kick pleat alone are  2/3 of a hide, so if you needed a coat to be made, you would also still need 2 hides, my next project i am planning is a light color elkhide duster with dark lacing, i used elk knuckles as the buttons for the front and buffalo teeth on the collar, also i used nickel beads and copper beads with some black crow beads thrown in for funsies, i reversed the kick pleat so it wont get tangled in the feet, i am 6 foot tall, you have to be at least 5 11 to wear this duster i tried it on a 7 foot tall man and it fit him perfect,.. because i did extent the sleeves
my moosehide coat, i wear this almost daily in the winter months, also laced with dark elk,, i do plan to put in slash pockets and inside pockets, but i just havent had the time.
