The Little Fawn
The fallow fawns invisible go
Away they flee the winds blow
Among one who stays a step
Cautious for a trap
Her eyes are bold for seeing
Meek for the present being
Strong for the coming day
She fears not life's way

The wind brings a whistle
Her first instinct is to flee
Yet she tells her soul to be
Unwavering heart shall be
Chance has favoured us
This brief encounter thus
Is this a dream I ask
A maker's dream in the dusk

Yes I see those eyes
Compassion that never dies
Images are most real
Fiery emotions set sail
That in each other's path
These grounds our feet rough
Always close my spirit stays
Forever protecting your days

So fear not little fawn
Spring brings a new dawn
All sorrows shall cease
With love's full release.
