To Fly Beyond

The candle flickers
In the still of the night
I blow it out
No darker the room becomes

Here in the quiet of the hills
My meditative wings take flight
Peace that has no miracles
No fables to drown our ears

To fly beyond snowcapped hills
My wish from younger days
To seek worlds that ancients paved
Thus my abode I have made

To fly as birds in the skies
Spanning across oceans
To see the beauty from yonder
Through rainbow's eye

With water from a cold well
Brushing clothes and socks
I look for the simplest ways
To fly beyond nature's ways

Sitting on river bank
Turning through the ancient scripts
Forgotten words from the fountains
Purifies me as I drink

Piercing through the fog and mist
Now comes the sun
Paving a gold stretched way
If we seek we shall find

Then my heart flies again
A single unison my heart seeks
To fly beyond heaven's gate
To one who waits for me.
