Dove's (Personal) Review:  Definitely a MUST-HAVE title for all Red Sox fans! This is a look back at how the Red Sox came to win the World Series in 2004, through Johnny Damon's eyes (#18, lead-off hitter, CF). It's a wonderful instant replay of all the guys "Breaking the Bambino's Curse!"
Johnny Damon is not a writer, and it shows throughout the pages. It's poorly written (as in "sentence structure"), but it's a highly entertaining read! Since the story is told through one of the player's eyes, you get a wonderful sense of the "behind the scenes" pressure[s] all the guys endured while striving for World Champion status.
Damon shares his personal experiences as a player, as a competitor, and as a baseball fan himself. There are many "laugh out loud" moments included that the cameras didn't catch while the games were being aired. Stories from the locker room, the dug out, the bull pen, and from the Red Sox club house are revealed, to take the reader further inside the game.
Though at times it sounds as if Damon is bragging about himself and his talent, the further you read, the more you come to find a very genuine, caring, and endearing guy who just loves the sport of baseball. He plays for the "fun of it," not for the money, and his humorous tales prove it.
If you're a die-hard member of Red Sox Nation, this is a book for you! You'll enjoy every page!
     TWO THUMBS UP!!!! GOLD STAR!!!
