Dove's (Personal) Review:  OK, I admit it... I absolutely LOVE this book. This is the third time I've read it, and I enjoyed it just as much (if not more) as the first two times, even though I already know the surprise ending.
After reading "The Bitch" by Jackie Collins (which was, at best, laughable), I felt - for my next read - I simply had to spend some time with a good book. So, Dialogues was my choice... and an easy choice at that! I know I've already reviewed it here once, but since that one was written four months ago, I figured a "New Review" was in order.
Stephen Spignesi is a brilliant writer, and it's evident on every page of this thoroughly enticing story. He grips you by the "short ones" on the very first page, and refuses to let go! This is, by far, one of the best books I've ever read. The character development is flawless, the dialogue reads as if spoken, and the plot is spine-chillingly captivating.
The one thing I have discovered about this book that I don't like is the length of it... it's too damn short! Every time I sit down with it, I start it and finish it, all in one sitting. It's impossible for me to "ration" the enjoyment. Once I start it, I just can't stop. I can't tell if that means the book is actually too short, or if it just reiterates how good this book really is! I have a feeling it's the latter of the two. This book redefines the term "page turner."
I never - NEVER - read the same book twice. I just don't have time for that. Once I read a book, I'm done with it. So, for me to read this one THREE times says a lot about the quality of this story! And knowing that I'll be reading it again, says even more! It's that good, folks! If you haven't picked up a copy of Dialogues yet, you must!!! RUN, don't walk, to a bookstore near you and get it! In fact, I'll make it even easier for you... click here for Amazon.com, or here for Barnes & Noble, and get your copy today! What are you waiting for??? Trust me, it's worth every penny!!!
I've always enjoyed Spignesi's non-fiction work, but Dialogues, his first novel, has got me practically foaming at the mouth for more of his fiction! I am anxiously awaiting his next book, but until then, I'm sure my visits with Tory Troy and Dr. Bexley will be frequent enough to keep me satisfied.
Definitely a TWO-THUMBS-UP, GOLD STAR story!!!
