Katsucon X: Sailormoon Sailor Stars |

For our third year at Katsucon, we decided to continue the tradition of having something Sailormoon-related in our skit. This, Sailor Stars, marks the final foray into the world of Sailormoon for Dark Muffins Productions. It's not that we don't love the series, but we love other things too, and we want to branch out. Yes, we have yet to do S, but we may someday come back to it. Sailor Stars was a record-breaking skit for DMP. We had fifteen members on stage for this cosplay, the largest group yet of us to take the stage together. We welcomed another tech-muffin, Fifi, to the acting side of things. We managed not one, but four costume changes on-stage (with no disqualifications!). And, we tied our awards record of the previous Katsucon, winning three more this year. We also got to see some really good cosplay (coughRobLantz'groupcough, coughentry18productionscough). All in all, Katsucon ROCKED!! |

Sailor Galaxia enters, as does Queen Neherenia. The villainesses rule the stage. |

Galaxia's minions, the Sailor Animamates, are ready to help them achieve this goal. Sailors Lead Crow, Tin Nyanko, Iron Mouse, and Aluminum Siren await their mistress' orders. |

The outer senshi, of which Sailors Uranus and Neptune are a part. They hold their talismen ready to attack. |

As the senshi prepare for battle, three boys also ready themselves to fight. Civilians, fight? What's going on? |

|
|
|
|
Seiya Kou is the leader of the three boys, known as the Three Lights. They are a pop idol group. Taiki and Yaten are the other members. |
|
Neptune and Uranus are joined by Sailorpluto, the guardian of Time, and Sailorsaturn, the senshi of Death and Rebirth. |
|
|
|

|
The four outer senshi await their leader while an amused Neherenia looks on. |
|
|
|

|
|
|
Eternal Sailormoon appears and joins her friends. This is the moment Galaxia and Neherenia have been waiting for. The animamates move to attack. |

|

|
|
|
The animamates are not impressed by Sailormoon and friends. They attack as a group, stunning the senshi. But, what of the Three Lights? |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
With the senshi down, the Lights decide it's time to act. They cannot allow the animamates to win! |

|
|

|
|
 |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The Three (male) Lights reveal their true forms: FEMALE sailor senshi! |

|
|
|
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The Sailor Starlights are senshi from the planet Kinmoku. They have fought Galaxia before, and are enraged that she would try to conquer Earth as she did Kinmoku. They prepare to attack the animamates. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The animamates are actually worried now. The Starlights attack, sending the villains away to regroup, then turn and help Sailormoon, at Star Fighter's behest. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
|
|
Uranus and Neptune decide they are fighting on the wrong side, and approach Galaxia. She turns them to her side, taking them to her base at Ginga TV to turn them completely. |
|
Pluto and Saturn, meanwhile, are left to face Queen Neherenia. They bravely attack, despite the pain of betrayal. |
|
|
|

|
|
|
Neherenia is hit with a Dead Scream from Pluto and a Silence Glaive Surprise from Saturn. She staggers, then rises again, and attacks. Saturn and Pluto fall to the ground. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Sailormoon pulls away from the Starlights, unable to bear her friends' pain. She uses her powers to heal both Pluto and Saturn. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Saturn and Pluto are healed, thanks to Sailormoon. The three face off against Neherenia, and this time, they are successful. The Queen of the Dead Moon falls. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Pluto and Saturn leave, feeling the crisis has passed. The animamates return, and the Starlights rush to protect Sailormoon. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The Starlights attack, but this time, the animamates are able to repel the blast. They retaliate, sending the Starlights to their knees. Sailormoon is horrified. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Sailormoon heals the Starlights, as she did for Pluto and Saturn, and the four attack the animamates. This time, it is the villains who are down for the count. They struggle in vain to regroup. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Galaxia returns, prompting the Starlights to gather around Sailormoon to guard her. The animamates reach out desperately to their leader, but Galaxia kills them all. She beckons into the shadows.... |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Uranus and Neptune return, now wearing the gold bracelets to show their star seeds belong to Galaxia. At her request, they kill Saturn and Pluto. The Starlights are disgusted. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
But it was only a trick! Uranus and Neptune attack Galaxia. The golden senshi cannot be killed so easily, though, and destroys them both for the insubordination. Uranus and Neptune clasp hands as they die. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Galaxia decides enough is enough, and kills the Starlights. Behind them, Sailormoon is revealed. She has shed her eternal guise and reverted to a form of pure power, wrapped in red energy ribbons. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
|
|
Sailormoon has had enough of the violence. She gives Galaxia a measuring stare. This, she determines, will be the final battle. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
Neherenia's spirit brings Galaxia a dark sword with which to fight. The innocent soul of Galaxia brings a pure sword for Sailormoon. This is Galaxia's last chance of redemption, and part of her desperately wants it. |
|
|
|
 |
|
|
|
The two clash swords, but ultimately Sailormoon is triumphant. It is a hollow victory, though, because she is the only one left alive. |
