Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust
A Bloody Dark Muffins Production
Saturday evening's Masquerade was a lot of fun!  There were some last-minute fixes to costumes (like sewing Caroline's ribbon on the hour before, while the body suit was being worn!), and some gaffes (poor Machilla's wig lacked spirit gum!), but we did really well, and had a lot of fun getting up on stage and performing for everyone.  People who came up to us afterwards said they enjoyed the skit, and thought we did well, so we're pleased.

Charlotte is led on stage by a phantom presence as the organ music swells.  Meier is already on stage, as are our two dead bodies.
Meier turns and caresses Charlotte, but is overcome by the need for blood.  He prepares to bite Charlotte, which she encourages, but he regains control over his urge and flings her away, disgusted at himself.
Unbenownst to Meier, two hunters seize Charlotte and begin to fight over who will return with her to claim the bounty.  The hunters are the dunpeal D and the human girl Leila Markus.  Leila pulls her gun on D, and he backs off, letting her gain possession of Charlotte momentarily.
Leila' s victory is short-lived, as the Barbaroi warriors Machilla and Caroline appear to rescue Charlotte and reunite her with Meier.  D faces off against Machilla, the werewolf, while Leila goes up against the plant-girl Caroline.
Bengi appears, heralding the arrival of the Bloody Countess Carmilla.  Machilla and Caroline bow before their mistress, while, with Bengi's help, Carmilla bewitches Leila, D, and even Meier and Charlotte!
D breaks the enchantment and revives Leila.  Bengi and the others see this.  D and Machilla and Leila and Caroline face-off again, the bounty hunters this time killing their opponents.  Bengi brings two dead bodies to life to distract the hunters, but they dispach the zombies easily.
Leila kills Bengi just as Meier lifts his cape, revealing himself to be Carmilla in disguise.  Carmilla has drained Charlotte of her blood in order to live again, and lets the body fall to the ground, near dead.
The D curtain, which enabled the quick-change from Meier to Carmilla within the cape.  Meier emerges from behind the curtain with a new fighting cape, and he and D prepare to dispose of the Bloody Countess.
Meier and D join forces momentarily to kill Carmilla, then face off against each other.  D stabs Meier, but is pulled away by Leila.  Leila, disgusted with all the violence and killing, holds up Charlotte's ring to D, who can take it back to her family as proof of her death..
Meier staggers over to Charlotte's fallen body, and lifts her into his arms.  She reaches toward him, giving him a moment of hope, but her hand falls lifeless to the floor as the music ends.
