1. Askot Sancturary
Askot, 54 km from Pithoragarh at an altitude at 1650 M. Snow Leopards, Himalayan Black Bear, Musk Deer, Snow cock, Tahr, Bharal, Monal, Chirs, Koklas, Pheasants and Chuckors are main highlights of the sanctuary. 2. Binsar Sanctuary Binsar was summer capital of the Chand Kings, Coommissioner Ramsey had constructed a bungalow at Khali Estate, now a you can find a posh hotel name Mountain Resort for stay. Binsari is famous for splendid Himalayan view, Birds and wild life. A Tourist Rest House managed bye Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam is ideally located facing mountain peaks. There is no light, only generator or solar electricity is provided. 3. Corbett National Park Country's first wildlife Park established in 1936, extends in a area of 1318.54 sq km comprising Corbett (520.82 sq km), Sonanadi wildlife Sanctuary (301.18 sq km) and Reserve forest (496.54 sq km) lies in Pauri Garhwal and Nainital distrcts. Elephants, Tiger, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Leopard Cat, Sambar, Cheetal, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Goral, Nilgai, Wild boar, Sloth Bear, Civet, Marten, Otter, Mongoose and other wild animals you can see there. Over 580 species of residential and migratory birds. In reptiles Gharial, Mugger, Crocodile, Python, king Cobra, Turtles, Sal Forest Tortoise, Monitor Lizard. Fishes Mahseer, Goonch and Trout in Ramnagar river. 4. Govind Wildlife Sanctuary (1300 M to 6315 M) in Uttarkashi It is very famous because of Har-ki-doon, full of wild flowers. Animal species of this sanctuary include - Himalayan Black Bear, Tahr, Serow, Monal, Snow Leopard, Brown Bear, Tragopan, chir, Bharal, Musk Deer, Koklas Kaleej Pheasants and Chakor. 5. Kedarnath Sanctuary With an ara of 967 sq. km it was established in 1972. Snow Leopard, Snow Cock, Tahr, Musk Deer, Leopard and Serow can be seen along with many species of birds. 6. Nanda Devi National Park (2400 M to 6817 M) Spreading over an area of 630 sq. km, it is second highest Nanda Devi Peak (Approx 7816 M) of India established in 1980. The first being Mount Kanchenjunga (8585 M ). Established in 1980. The very first British mountaineers Eric Shipton and Bill Tilman visited the area in 1936. Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Tahr, Snow Leopard, Serow, Chir Pheasants and variety of flowers can be seen here. 7. Rajaji National Park (300 M to 1350 M) With 820 sq. km this park establish in 1966 main places inside the park Chilla 8 km from Haridwar and Dholkand. Wildlife animals Elephant, Tiger, Panther, Bear, Chital, Sambar, wild Boar, Kakar, Python, Monitor, Lizard and large variety of fauna. Best season 15 November to 15 June. 8. Valley of Flowers National Park (3352 M to 3962 M) Total Area 87 sq. km more than 300 species of wild flowers like himalayan blue poppy, daisy, dianthus, calandula, white and yellow anemouns bloom and swing with life during July-August.
