| PERU (January 2000) Een mysterieus land met veel cultuur. Misterious country with a lot of culture. PIURA Een grote drukke stad dat enkel dient als overgang. Via LOJA(Ecuador) kun je een rechtstreekse bus nemen naar Piura. A big and busy city where you only go for a transfer as you have direct buses from LOJA(Ecuador) to Piura. TUMBES Grensstad aan Ecuador, maar het is gemakkelijker en veiliger om naar Piura te gaan. Bordertown with Ecuador, but it is easier and safer to travel from Loja to Piura. TRUJILLO Leuk stadje voor een dag of twee. (Zeer gezellig tijdens Kerstmis!) Via Trujillo kun je naar CHANCHAN(een groot zandkasteel) en HUANCHACO, een leuk maar druk kuststadje. Nice little town for a couple of days.(Very nice at Christmas!) From Trujillo you can do a trip to CHANCHAN(a big sandcastle) and HUANCHACO, a nice but busy beachtown. LIMA ...Beuh! Blijf er niet te lang. Het GOUDMUSEUM is duur en bevat weinig goud. Beter is de MUSEO DE LA NACION (zowel qua prijs als qua kwaliteit; studentenkaart!) Het KLOOSTER VAN SAN FRANCISCUS is ook een bezoekje waard; maar niet voor de kelder zoals het boek zegt...die is leuk maar niet spectaculair. Don't stay too long over there. The MUSEO DE ORO is expensive and you have to look for the gold. Better is the MUSEO DE LA NACION(cheaper and more interesting; bring your ISIC if you have one!) The CONVENT OF SAN FRANCISCO is also nice to visit; but not for the catacombes like the book says...those are nice, but not spectacular. | Van from LIMA naar to AREQUIPA : PISCO Tour : de ISLA BALLESTAS in PARACAS. ICA Zandsurfen in de OASIS, een meer omringd door duinen. Sandsurfing in the OASIS, a lake surrounded by dunes. NAZCA Heel wat tours. De bekendste zijn de LIJNEN, maar die zie je beter als je postkaarten koopt of in de Museo de la Nacion(LIMA) wordt alles over die lijnen uitgelegd. Een vliegtuig nemen is duur(40USD) voor wat je te zien krijgt en je moet een sterke maag hebben. De toren is goedkoper voor een kijkje maar verwacht niet om veel te zien. Het KERKHOF VAN CHACHILLA is veel indrukwekkender. A lot of tours overthere... The most famous are the LINES, but you can study them better on postcards and in the Museo de la Nacion(Lima). A plane is expensive(40USD) for what you will see and you need to have a strong stomage. The tower is much cheaper but do not expect to see a lot overthere.
