| M�XICO Als je via het land binnenkomt in de Chiapasgedeelte(ik weet niet voor de andere gedeelten), krijg je slechts 15dagen en een rekening van 17USD. Een verlenging kost u een ander 17USD. If you enter the country in the CHIAPAS-area, you will only get 15 days to start with and a taxbill of 17USD...After, if you want more days, you will have to pay another 17USD. MERIDA Tropisch warm en duur(der dan Chiapas). In deze stad kun je goede hangmatten kopen; de meer je er koopt, de goedkoper ze worden. Als je er slechts 1 wilt; betaal niet meer dan 30USD maar hou best eerst een studie zodat je weet dat je een goede koopt. Er zijn v��l ruines rond M�rida; met de PUUCroute kun je er 5 bezoeken aan 7USD voor de bus retour + de prijzen van de ruines(zondag is de beste dag!) Je kunt echter ook enkel UXMAL(4.5USD) doen. A tropical heat and (more) expensive (then in Chiapas). In this town you can get good deals for hammocks; the more you buy, the less you pay. If you only need one, do not pay more then 30USD but have a study about the things before you go hunting so you know you are buying a good one. There are a lot of ruins around the city; with LA RUTA PUUC(see book) you can visit 5 of them and the bus will cost you 7USD(entrance of the piramides are not included but are free on Sundays). You can also just visit UXMAL, which is the biggest one(4.5USD) and more then enough. PALENGUE Slapen in de camping is v��l goedkoper dan in de stad; je kunt er hangmatten huren als je er geen hebt. Lang hoef je hier niet te blijven; er zijn slechts 2 dingen die de moeite zijn om te bezoeken : AGUA AZUL & MIZUL-HA(watervallen) en de prachtige ruines in het midden van de jungle (die echter veel minder gaan lijken na het zien van TIKAL). To sleep in a camping is much more cheaper then in town; you can hire hammocks if you do not have one. You do not have to stay here very long as the only things to visit are AGUA AZUL & MIZUL-HA(waterfalls) and the beautiful ruines in the middle of the jungle(which are less impressive once you have seen Tikal). *De weg van Palengue naar FLORES(Guate) is zeker de moeite waard als je in die richting gaat (omgekeerd is iets minder...). * *The road from Palengue to Flores(Guate) is a must if you are going to that direction (the other way around is a bit less...)* |
| SAN CRIST�BAL DE LAS CASAS(15/08/2000-17/08/2000) Leuk stadje. Heel rustig, heel goedkoop maar heel toeristisch. Nice little town. Very quiet, very cheap but very touristic. D� stad om er Mexicaanse specialiteiten uit te proberen op de markt. Proef de TAMALES!(4 voor 1USD) Also a beautiful and quiet town with a lot to visit around.
