Red Faction II
Red Faction II is the Sequel to Red Fation. The game provides many more options and features than its predicesor. I actually rented the first Red Faction when it came out. I played it, and after a while i just put it down to be returned. It was pretty cheesy. When I recomend Red Faction II to most people these days, the common response is, "Oh, they came out with a sequel to that game... The first one sucked". Red Faction II runs up there with Halo and Counterstrike in my eyes. Hopefully this will convince you that Red Faction II is one of the most superior first person shooters out on the market.
To start off, Red Faction II has a much better campaign. It takes quite a bit of time to beat, but its not by any means a long game. I figure the overall purpose of this game would be to grab a couple of buddies and start a fourgasm. The multiplayer options are filled with scenarios such
> as, regime, arena, team arena, bagman, deathmatch, team deathmatch, etc. There are also over 20 different levels to play in and over 30 guns to crack some skulls with. You can adjust handicap, gun preferences, lives, even kill/death or kill/suicide ratios. So, when i bring a game over one of my friends house, we usually play RF2. It is one of those games that you can play for hours on end and not get sick of it. Just be warned it can get very very competetive.

Some adjustments are:

* If you are carrying two handguns at the same time, you can fire each indipendently using R1 and L1. So when you reload, it reloads the one with the least ammo first.

* Say you are carrying a gun that requires the use of two hands. In most other games, you could be holding such a gun, press a button a grenade would magicly fly out in the
direction you were facing. In this, the hand leaves the gun and you can see it toss the grenade. To add to the grenade comments, you cannot throw a grenade while carrying dual pistols or any other combo of two guns. It makes sense.

* There are smarter AI. The computer players actually duck! The hide at the corners of walls, pop out, shoot, and pop back in.

* As in Red Fation I, you can just about destroy anything!!!! RF2 uses an enhanced version of the GeoMod engine, which basicly means you can blast through walls.

Plot
Evil dictator Victor Sopot has constructed the government of the world, the commonwealth. After much experimentation with nano-chip-enhanced human beings, the project was ordered to be destroyed. The Red Faction and all projects are to be destroyed. A few escape and form there own militia to ovethrow vile Sopot. You are the character Alias. You and your fellow nano-enhanced allies join together to put an end to Sopot's rule. The missions are actually quite fun. I'm not a fan of campaigns at all. I usually just get bored and never play em again, but i actually played this one. Theres a slight twist to the story.

Red Faction II is available for X-Box, Playstation 2, and Gamecube. It is definately worth your money. Hope I persuaded you to at least try renting the game.
