The Irish government has approved plans for a motorway to run right next to the ancient site of Tara. Not only would this mean the excavation of 28 sites directly within the motorways path but many others being too close to the motorway not to be negatively affected by it.
Michael Egan from the National Roads Authority had this to say about the proposed motorway: -
�It concluded that the road would not have significant environmental effect and would not impact
on the hill of Tara.�
If you would like to lodge your protest against these plans then you can do so by going to the site of the �Save the Tara-Skryne Valley campaign� who are attempting to make a legal challenge against this.
