United Pagan Kingdom.
AGM - 20th September 2007.

Advertised Start Time: 7pm
Location: Barnstaple

Agenda:

1. Examining/voting on the constitution.
2. Voting on joining PEBBLE
3. Voting on a PEBBLE representative.
4. Voting on the UPK's stance on the Tree for All project.
5. Closing the ballot and announcing the results.

Point 1.

The constitution was discussed on the e-group and the forum, via telephone, e-mails and private messages with every member who had a membership form and wished to discuss it prior to the AGM. An e-copy was available on the internet at both the e-group and the forum to view and suggest ammendments.

At the AGM (and offered beforehand) there was a paper copy of the constitution so that those who did not have internet access could read the document and make up their mind about the contents before the vote.

The constitution was voted upon and the results are in section 5. The members present discussed the constitution and the need for one, despite personal preferences towards free-flow action.

Point 2.

Information was placed up on the forum about PEBBLE and where to look for more information about the organisation. At the meeting one of the members who did not have internet access asked for more information about PEBBLE and the members described what they knew about the organisation from the website and Q&A with members of PEBBLE.

Joining PEBBLE was voted upon and the results are in section 5.

Point 3.

Those who were nominated for PEBBLE representative were put up onto the e-group/forum on the first day of e-voting. For those who were not online they were phoned/met up with in person to let them know who was being considered. The PEBBLE representative was voted on without further discussion at the meeting and the results are in section 5.

Point 4.

Information about the Tree for All project was put up on the e-group/forum when the votes opened so that members could read more about the organisation and its aims. It was also described by the members at the meeting for those who did not have internet access. A vote was held on the Tree for All project, the results are in section 5.

Point/section 5.

The results were announced at the AGM and then later that evening on the e-group and forum for the members who could not make the meeting.

Question 1. Adopting the constitution. The constitution was adopted by 100% of the voting members and signed at the AGM.

Question 2. Joining PEBBLE. Currently the membership would like more details (answer b.) It was agreed the representative would begin dialogue between PEBBLE and the UPK members to answer any/all questions to the memberships satisfaction before a second vote was held.

Question 3. PEBBLE Representative. Jim was elected as the PEBBLE representative.

Question 4. Tree for All. Unanimously for supporting the project.

After the points of the agenda were covered the members had something to eat and a glass of meade to celebrate the constitution being adopted and the first AGM of the UPK.

Matters such as the right to bear arms in public for religious purposes, prison visits by pagan priests and the public perception of paganism were discussed. There was some very interesting feedback from the robust debate and views on both/all sides of the fence. A list was gathered of anything that might be of use on the website. This list is going to be forwarded to the web designer.
