Chapter 1: Introduction.

These grounds, that I see before my very eyes, where Ive spent the last three years of my life, will eventually take me to the last years, and consume all that I am, and all that I ever will be. Some people ask me, do I regret any of it? To be honest, I do in some points, with all of my heart. But I wouldnt take it back for anything, not a thing in this world. Some say I am a mage of my trait, some say, that Im a monster. Others, dont care to think.

My life these days, consist on constant explosions, and the sounds of dieing men all around me, it pains me so to here these sounds day in and day out, feeling such things that I feel. No man should have to experience war, not now, not ever. But it seems the more that it isnt needed, the more that people rave for it. Me, I just do things, things that I have been told to do. I avoid confrontation, with all costs. Its not a bad thing, but neither is a good thing. War isnt acceptable; things could be worked out easily. It isnt glamorous, like people hope or think it would be. Killing a man, with your own hands, doesnt make you feel better, nor is it even mutual. Its hideous, thats the only word that comes to mind, but in some cases, it cannot be avoided. It takes strong wills, strong wits, and even strong minds.

David, our commander, wasnt the sharpest tool in the shed, but yet, we still move on. We live, most of us, to see the sun come up, and it set off in the far. 1
