Falling
wip: last updated 25/1/05

Summary: Sequel to the film Labyrinth, and something of a prologue to Meet Me At the Faire. It begins the morning after Sarah's journey. Not entirely original as far as theme goes, but future events within the story will (hopefully) either end leading directly into Faire or will set up a good base for me to write in all the missing, but alluded to, events taking place before Faire. (If that makes sense, good for you. If not, well, email me and I will try to clarify. Be sure to mention the fanfic or Labyrinth or something similar in the subject line so I do not think it is junk mail.)

Disclaimers and other such sundry: Labyrinth is copyright by The Jim Henson Company. I make no claims at ownership, and I hope I make no offence by borrowing it and letting my imagination move the story beyond the end titles.

Introduction: It was January, 2003. There I was, avoiding revising about this exam about which I was trying not to panic. (Yes, I know it would be more logical to revise like mad in order to cause the panic to subside. But, I ask you, what gave you the idea that your logic and my logic would end in similar places? Hmm? I mean, have you actually read some of the other stories I have written? *Taps head* I may not truly be all there. But that is a secret. Don't let on that I let you know.)

In any case, I was working on Meet Me At the Faire, when suddenly I felt a lightning bolt of inspiration (though it could have just as easily been my muse whacking me with a mental board... or maybe the fact that I am in a plain ole strange mood). This idea popped up on how I can extend the prologue of that story into an actual story of its own. Rather than ignore said lightning bolt/mental board and pushing it onto a back burner as I usually do with the intention of visiting it later (though in actuality it will be on perpetual simmer), I opened a new window in GoLive (current html editor of choice. yay Adobe).

If any of you lucky people who have happened across this gem of a website *cough cough* are avid Labyrinth fanfiction readers, I am sure you will notice that I have taken liberties with the names of Sarah's father and stepmother. I may change them to fall more in line with what is generally recognised as being their names. Or I may change them yet again to something else entirely. As Author, I reserve that right. :D

Thanks: As always, first and foremost to the people who created the original story. Even after having watched it many, many, MANY times, I still find it funny. I think that is really impressive. I only wish Jim Henson was still alive so that I could write him a really sappy and rather ridiculous fan letter of appreciation. As it is, the Kermit sitting on my bookshelf and endless bounciness at the mention of the word 'phenomena' will, hopefully, create a happy enough vibe that, wherever he is, he might be able to feel that his creations still bring joy.

To Bree, Anja, and Jen, for dutifully reading the new chapters of the stories that I write and email to them.
