As Sam slowly drifted towards consciousness she gradually became aware of a warm pressure at her back and an arm draped over her stomach. <Colonel O'Neill> she thought hazily, vaguely recalling that he had been the only one lying beside her when they'd gone to sleep; Teal'c and Daniel were on Jack's other side. She sleepily considered moving further away but decided that it really wasn't worth the effort. She was nearly asleep again when Jack shifted and, to her shock, she felt his erection prodding her from behind.
<Holy Hannah!> she thought, instantly wide awake. What was she supposed to do now? She certainly couldn't stay where she was, but if she moved she risked waking her commanding officer. Jack continued fondling her breasts as he nuzzled the back of her neck, his right hand slipping beneath her underwear and between her legs to stroke at the wetness gathered there, his middle finger finally pressing intimately into her. Sam's entire body shuddered slightly at the welcome penetration.
Both of them now beyond thought and operating purely on instinct, their movements became faster and less controlled. One of Jack's knees slid between her legs, separating them as his fingers continued their assault; he thrust against her urgently, his left arm holding her to him firmly. Her body suddenly trembled uncontrollably, a low moan escaping her mouth as her orgasm washed over her in a wave of heat. As she finally began to still, Jack's arms tightened painfully around her as he came hard, her own name a strangled whisper falling from his lips. "God, Sam."
They both lay there for several minutes, breathing heavily, Jack's hands still buried between her legs. Sam couldn't believe what they had just done, especially while on duty with Daniel and Teal'c just meters away. What had she been thinking?
But that was just it, she realised. For once, she hadn't been thinking -- she'd simply *felt*. No rationalising, no analysing, no calculating. Did she have any regrets? <No> she thought. But what about Jack?
Even as she wondered what he was thinking, Jack removed his hands with a kiss to her neck that was remarkably chaste considering what they'd just done. The sweetness of his gesture brought tears to her eyes and she caught hold of one of his hands, bringing to rest over her heart. He readjusted his grip, holding her to him securely, and brought his lips to her ear. "No regrets, Sam. Not about this."
Sam brought his hand to her lips and kissed his palm lingeringly before resettling it firmly over her heart and making herself comfortable in his arms, her earlier drowsiness returning. They might only have this one night to last them for a very long time, but it would be enough.
It would have to be.
