Okay, so here's the thing: I was a student for a good 19 years and, considering that I'm only 24, that's a big chunk of my day-to-day life.  And being an English major, I became quite used to writing essays pretty much 8 months out of the year.  And because I'm weird, I *liked* writing those essays.

Now that I'm no longer a student, I don't have to write essays.  Or, another way of looking at it is that I don't *get* to write essays.  This past summer I had the urge to write one and since I didn't have any deep, scholarly thoughts kicking around in my head, I wrote one on some of my favourite TV shows.  Yeah, I know, get a life, eh? <g>

Anyway, here's that essay I wrote.  Should I get any more weird urges to write on random facts, they may also appear here.  And hey, if you're strange and bizarre like me and also like to write dissertations on your favourite couples, send 'em on over to me via
[email protected] and I'll put them up here too, so my solitary essay doesn't get lonely.
What's in a name?
What's in a name, indeed.  Have you ever heard that to know the true name of a person or thing is to hold power over the very same?  While this is an old philosophy, it's one that we still -- knowingly or unknowingly -- keep alive, especially when it comes to on-screen relationships.  Read on to see my haphazard thoughts on the subject.
