| Origin |
| The game was invented in 1954 by a British diver called Alan Blake who was a member of the southsea sub-aqua club. Blake originally developed the game with the intention of keeping divers fit during winter months when regular diving expeditions were not possible. Alan Blake died Aug. 14/01 after a short period of illness. From its' humble origins the game has now spread to become an international game. The main countries who play in international competitions include Canada, The United States, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and The Netherlands. This year (August 2006) the World Championships will be held in Sheffield, England. It will probably never become an Olympic sport (just not a good spectator sport). We have enough difficulty getting national recognition. |
