Kinder London Towers came a step closer to winning the conference title tonight running out 111 - 103 winners against Thames Valley Tigers in this vital Southern Conference clash. John White got Towers off to a strong start with two straight threes. There were altogether seven three point scores in the first quarter, three from John White and two each for Brett Eppehimer and Terrell Myers. At the end of the first quarter, Towers were up by 15 The Tigers battled back in the second quarter and half way through had whittled Tower's lead down to 6. However, a determined Towers came back with a 9 - 2 tear to lead by 14. At the end of the first half, it was Towers by 6. Tigers made a strong start to the second half getting within three points with their first score. But, Towers went on a 15 - 4 tear to extend the lead to 14. Eric Mann picked up his fourth foul and Tigers finished the quarter with an 10 - 2 tear, making it a level ball game. Tigers took their first lead of the game at the start of the final session as Terrell Myers picked up his fourth foul, but he then put in another three starting another Towers run. Ted Allen scored the Towers' hundredth point with a dunk with Terrell Myers putting up the alley-oop contributing to a 12 - 1 tear for Towers to lead by 9. Ronnie Baker picked up his fourth foul then Eric Mann fouled out followed by John White picking up a fourth foul and then Terrell Myers fouled out. The Tigers lost Barry Bowman with five fouls in the final seconds and were unable to close the gap, Towers winning by 8. Terrell Myers top scored for the Towers with a game high 31 points included 6 out of 10 three pointers.
