Kinder London Towers scored a fine victory over Yambolgaz of Bulgaria in the NEBL, winning 93 - 87 at Crystal Palace tonight. Yambolgaz made a strong start, quickly running up a 4 point lead. Towers had 3 fouls called on them in the first minute. Towers soon levelled, but an 8 - 2 tear gave Yambolgaz a 7 point lead. Towers fought back well and by the end of the first quarter, Towers were down by just 2.
A batch of 3 three pointers from John White and 2 from Terrell Myers helped push Towers into a 6 point lead early in the second quarter. However, Yambolgaz edged back to lead by 1 point but at the end of a tremendous first half, it was Towers by 5.
At the start of the second half there were just 3 points scored in the first 3 minutes. Yambolgaz came back again and when Phil Hickey picked up his fourth foul the scores were level at 64 each. However, Towers got in front again with Terrell Myers adding another three pointer to his tally and at the end of the third quarter, Towers were up by 7.
Terrell Myers and Robert Youngblood picked up fourth fouls early in the final quarter and Eric Mann fouled out with 5.05 left to play. Towers then ran a 10 point tear to lead by 15. Robert Youngblood fouled out with 2.32 left and Yambolgaz closed the gap to 6. They couldn't get any closer than that and at the end of the game, it was Towers by 6. Terrell Myers top scored for the Towers with a game high 36 points.
