Polonia Warbud (POL) 89 (36 , 55, 67)
(Jurkunas 19, Havrilla 18, Karwolski 16)
Polonia Warbud secured their second win on the road to aid their NEBL Open aspirations, with an 89-73 success to top-of-the-table Kinder London Towers on Thursday night.
The visitors were quickest out of the blocks, enjoying a 7-0 burst and a 9-0 tear in the first quarter, which helped them to a 36-20 lead. Although Towers rallied with a 6-1 tear in the second period, Polonia still enjoyed an 11-point lead at 37-26. When the Polish outfit responded with a 13-0 tear of their own to give them a 55-32 lead at half time, there was no way back for the hosts. An 8-0 run early in the final quarter gave Towers a glimmer of hope, reducing the lead to 10. But that was the closest Towers got, as Polonia finished the stronger to secure a comfortable 89-73 win.
Polonia forward Andrius Jurkunas capped of a fine display, top scoring for the visitors with 19 points. James Havrilla netted 18 before fouling out with four minutes left on the clock. Terrell Myers was the leading scorer for the Towers with 19 points.
