Kinder London Towers defeated Brighton Bears 89-83 on Sunday afternoon to make it through to the semi-finals of the BBL Trophy. Bears just edged a close first quarter leading 21-20, but Towers hit eight of the opening 12 points of the second quarter to lead 28-25. It was close for the rest of the first half, as Towers maintained a narrow advantage at 44-41 at half-time. Towers extended that advantage to seven points by the end of the third period, thanks in no small part to the three point shooting of Terrell Myers and John White, who each bagged two outside baskets in the quarter. That lead was extended to nine points in the final quarter, before Bears hit back with two Albert White three pointers and later five points in a row from Randy Duck, which cut the deficit to three points at 81-78. Towers John White responded with five points of his own to put Towers 86-78 up with one minute remaining and try as they might, Bears could not pull it back. Both Whites John for Towers and Albert for Bears bagged game-high 25 points each. Towers Terrell Myers added 24 points and Ted Allen netted 13.
