Kinder London Towers ended their losing run with a win against Derby Storm at Crystal Palace tonight. Towers were without John White and Wayne Henry and Robert Youngblood suited up but took no part. A 10 point tear from the Towers helped by 3s from Terrell Myers, Ronnie Baker and Silas Cheung gave the Towers a strong start and at the end of the first quarter it was Towers by 10.
Despite another couple of 3s from Ronnie Baker Derby began to fight their way back and got within 2 points. A long 3 from Brett Eppehimer started another run from the Towers who ended the first half up by 7.
Once again, Derby began to pull back as Stuart Robbins picked up his fourth foul. The teams drew level at 60 apiece. However, another long 3 from Brett Eppehimer started a 15 - 2 tear with Silas Cheung throwing another 3 right on the buzzer to end the third quarter up by 13.
Ted Allen picked up a fourth foul early in the fourth and with 4.27 to play, Towers led by 9 with 2 shots to come. Stuart Robbins fouled out followed shortly by Ted Allen with 2.49 to play. A 9 point tear by the Storm brought them back in touch, but once again, it was Brett Eppehimer with a 3 to bring the Towers away to win by 8. Brett Eppehimer top scored for the Towers with 16.
