Kinder London Towers stumbled to their second defeat in two days, losing to Pertemps Birmingham Bullets at Crystal Palace tonight, by just three points. Birmingham made the better start with a 12 point tear, but Towers fought right back helped by two big threes from Silas Cheung to end the first quarter level.
The second quarter stayed pretty even for a while with Rashod Johnson picking up a technical as the Bullets began to pull away to a 13 point lead. However a Ted Allen dunk followed by a Ronnie Baker 3, put the Towers back in touch at the end of the second quarter.
The Bullets were 11 points up when a technical was called on John O'Connell, then again stretched their lead to 13. When a time out was called with 2.56 left to play after Stuart Robbin's fourth foul, they led by 16. Ted Allen and Terrell Myers both picked up fourth fouls and at the end of third quarter, it was Birmingham by 15.
Towers came out strongly for the fourth quarter but Terrell Myers fouled out with 6.41 remaining. A technical on coach Lance Randall contributed to a 17 - 2 tear by the Towers to bring them within just 2 points. However, both Ted Allen fouled out then Stuart Robbins. With 3.52 to play, it was a 2 point ball game, but Towers just couldn't score from the final possession, losing by 3. Brant Bailey of the Bullets was the top scorer with 34 points with Terrell Myers top scoring for the Towers with 19.
