Selhurst Park Stadium Capacity: 26.309 Record attendance: 51,482 vs Burnley, 11 May 1979 Away-fans: Arthur Wait Stand (corner with Holmesdale Road Stand) There are plans to expand the Holmesdale Road Stand in the near future. It would take the capacity up to 42,000. The club will consider to move to a new ground (near M25/M23) if they don't get the necessary permissions for the expansion of Selhurst park. Crystal Palace moved to Selhurst in 1924. The stadium used to have only one stand (the 'main stand'). The other sides of the pitch were all terraced. Nowadays there are stands on every side of the pitch (all seats). The stadium developed a lot the last few years (especially the years after hillsborough). The Arthur Wait Stand was added in 1969 and the Whitehorse Lane Stand was totally renewed in the eighties. The Whitehorse Lane Stand has been covered since 1994 (also made 'all-seater'). The latest stand is the Holmsedale Road Stand which was built in 1995. Nowadays this is the favorite stand of most Palace fans. Crystal
