* Body Control
This evocation allows the Devourer to alter the body chemistry of her host
body and others. She can purge poisons (both natural and manmade) and increase
or reduce metabolism, even putting a body into a deathlike coma, with extreme
difficulty. A strong-willed opponent can attempt to overcome this power. The
effects last for around an hour, when any purged poisons or toxins will return.
This can be made permanent though through force of willpower.
Torment: Monstrous demons use a brute-force approach when performing this
evocation, putting a terrible strain on a subject. The more purging the demon
does at once, the more chance there is of the target taking damage.
** Manipulate Nerves
Like Body Control, this evocation allows the demon to manipulate a subject's
nervous system. Strength and reflexes can be enhanced, senses can be dulled
or sharpened, or the person can be subjected to waves of intense pleasure
or pain. Requires contact, and can be resisted with the exercising of willpower,
effects last for an hour or so.
Torment: A monstrous demon risks inflicting severe physical damage to a subject
by crudely manipulating the victim's nervous system.
*** Manipulate Flesh
This evocation allows the demon to manipulate a subject's physical form (be
it her own or another's), adding muscle mass, increasing bone density or expanding
mental faculties. There is a risk, however. If the character attempts something
rather radical, or accomplishes their task a little too well, the target suffers
system shock, which causes physical damage. Requires contact, and can be resisted
with the exercising of willpower, effects last for an hour or so.
Torment: Monstrous demons alter flesh and bone without regard for their subject's
frailty. If performed on another being, the subject may find themselves becoming
uncontrollably paranoid and prone to violence for a short while.
**** Restore Flesh
The demon is capable of restoring an animal or person's body to its original
form, no matter how torn or mutilated it has become. Lost limbs and organs
are restored completely, illnesses and poisons are purged from the body. Aggravated
damage can NOT be healed with this evocation, nor can the power resurrect
someone who is already dead. Requires physical contact.
Torment: Monstrous Devourers are capable of performing this evocation as well,
but their ministrations are invariably tainted by hatred and pain. The result
is that the subject will always suffer some kind of derangement from the evocation,
the only question is how long it will last.
***** Shape Flesh
The demon is capable of transforming human flesh into any shape desired. Mortals
or fallen can become monstrous creatures straight out of legend. The evocation
usually takes time, and can be completed over a period of days as the demon
"tinkers" with her creation. The effects of the evocation last several
days, or can be made permanent by expending willpower. Devourers can use this
evocation on themselves or others, as long as they can touch the subject whenever
they continue the evocation.
Torment: Monstrous demons' alterations are invariably warped by their Torment,
creating grotesque deformities that transform victims into walking nightmares.
Such a hideous metamorphosis causes the victim mental derangements, as well
as causing them to suffer damage each day as a result of the intolerable strain
placed on his body. Mortals who witness these creatures are subject to the
effects of Revelation.
