| London Irish Taekwondo originated and was formed by a handful of likeminded Taekwondo practitioners in 2000 and has grown and evolved into an organisation that boasts an ever increasing membership which has access to international coaches and referees. |
| Its aims have been and are to promote and develop both the Technical (Poomse) and fighting (Kyrougi) disciplines of WTF Taekwondo as well as the traditional martial art for all associated students, and to maintain a dialogue with relevant Taekwondo bodies both directly and indirectly, without becoming embroiled in the bureaucracy and autocracy that so often has a tendency to repel Instructors and students. |
| London Irish Taekwondo is affiliated to the Irish Taekwondo Union (Irelands Taekwondo WTF governing body) and is the only body outside of Ireland recognised by the ITU that has had the authority to organise, co-ordinate and act as a conduit for WTF style martial artists in the UK who are Irish and or of Irish decent (hold Citizenship/passport etc.) and wish to represent Ireland at WFT events. London members who are of a nationality or citizenship other than Irish are afforded every assistance in representing their Country though the close links London Irish Taekwondo have with WTF and International governing bodies. |
| London Irish Taekwondo have and are recognised throughout Europe and the rest of the World for producing some of the finest exponents of the sport at Senior, Junior, Children and also PeeWee level |
