Francis Inwood-Smythe
Baron of Kingston

Francis Inwood-Smythe was born the second son
(and youngest child) of the Baron
of
Kingston, Johnathan Inwood-Smythe and his Baroness, the lovely Patricia.
Francis
was educated at Eton and whilst there he met and became great friends
with
Reginald "Reggie" or "Rutters" Ruttinge-Stoat and became
known as "Frankie"
to
his friends there.
Shortly
after returning to the Baronial pile - Inwood Hall in Kingston - Francis'
elder
brother, Michael, drowned in an unfortuante boating accident.
Francis'
father's misery at the death of his beloved Michael, gradually turned
into
a slow slide into a lethal bout of consumption.
Having
mourned his father for the appropriate three month period, the newly
succeeded
Baron Kingston, Francis Inwood-Smythe, removed himself from Inwood Hall
to
London to escape the terrible memories of his father's dreadful illness.
Arriving
in London on the 1st December, 1777, Francis was delighted to find his
spirit
lifted by the happy, optimistic attitude that pervaded the greatest city
in
the world and he determined to be a success there.
