London Clash is Matthew Alan Jeide.
Some time after the summer of 1998 he realized the name he would go by from then on and, as a result, named his web site according to the name he gave himself. It started out with pictures; pictures of the musical group Prodigy, screen shots from The Shining, and even a few of London Clash (mainly from his trip to London in 98' that inspired the name). It eventually evolved into...well, more pictures and little else. But it still exists, whatever the lack of progress. Matt was born in Deer Park, Texas to a family that split apart...his father moving to the scenic desert areas of Arizona (and, finally, to the country of Missouri) after making a fortune, though still seeing him quite often. This was made possible because of his mother, Joan Jeide, who worked (and still does) for Continental Airlines. He was an only child. The play of the neighborhood kids would help him develop a state of being that would last forever,be it street hockey, exploring the plateaus and back fields of chemical plants or bringing music to others. Needless to say, the lack of a present role model left Matt to develop on his own. At age 12, he began playing the violin in Orchestra in Junior High school under the watchful eye of Mr. Sloan, his Orchestra teacher, and taught himself guitar and bass to his Nirvana collection. The inspiration that preceded this is a fond one: A neighborhood peer by the name of Blake Bristow brought a guitar onto the school bus one afternoon, giving Matthew the realization that he too could play guitar like the bands he listened to. At age 13, he taught himself the piano and at age 16, he began practicing the drums. At age 14, Matthew discovered a band called the Smashing Pumpkins, with whom he identified on a deep musical level with the style of it's main writer, Billy Corgan. Matthew discovered he could write his own music at age 17, which led to the creation of over 40 songs that gave him an idea as to what he wanted to do, while also developing his own sound. He wanted to make music. Having a unique sound and strong enough material, he knew that he could, at least, turn this into a fantastic hobby. That idea still exists, and is actually in the process of being produced on a new home studio Matthew built in his 2nd bedroom. Matthew still uses the name "London Clash", but the musical project is titled "Quid Pro Quo", an idea given to him by his best friend of years, Nick Betros. Nick Betros plays bass fantastically, but he joined the army (though Matt and him still remain best friends), and so Matt decided to break up the group he had going so he could record and not tie himself down to Houston, TX. At the moment, he is simply concentrating on getting a good representative recording with the objective of coaxing new people to play with. Hah...enough 3rd person, it is making me laugh, so...um...I'll add stuff later.
