Farm Team Draft

    The draft will consist of 6 rounds, with all 5 new teams involved.  All players are eligible as long as they are property of a major league club (i.e. no top prospects for the 2003 draft) and have either thrown less than 50 MLB innings, or have had less than 130 at-bats. You may, however, fill ONE of your farm spots with a player who surpassed these totals last year. Names that come to mind for that who are available are Nick Johnson, Bobby Kielty, Carlos Pena, Rodrigo Lopez, Austin Kearns, Damian Moss, Brad Wilkerson, and Sean Burroughs. These are known as carryover rookies, and you will be allotted one such player every season. Also, Japanese and other foreign professionals are not eligible to be placed on your farm, because they've been to the bigs in their own homeland.

    The farm team draft will take place on Sunday, February 9th at 9 PM ET, so you should start your research now.  If this is a bad time for you, please contact me and we'll see if we can work something else out. Also, if you're not going to make it and don't know of a suitable time, you may send me a pre-ranked list of players and I will fill the roster for you. There will be 42 players selected in this draft, so a list of 42 should be sufficient. Just be sure if you get it off a website, that 41 of the players aren't already taken in here, because that would defeat the purpose.
