Case Study 10

Color: Dun
Markings: Tobiano. Star. Disunited Strip, Snip. Underlip. Zebra bars on right front leg. Distal spots on all four coronets.

Here is a nice photo that shows the dorsal stripe clearly. I didn't bother mentioning the dorsal stripe since the horse is a dun and that is a dun characteristic. Describing a pinto pattern can be very difficult. Usually when a Pinto or a Paint is registered, the owner draws the patterns on the registration form where indicated. I could have said the horse has a Right Front Sock, but even attempting to describe the rest of his markings is daunting. Somehow "Stockings" for the other legs does not seem to be adaquate. Don't you agree?

5 year old Dun Tobiano Paint horse named Chinook Force. Picture taken by my friend Jenn who was very sad that Chinook and I didn't win our showmanship (halter) class. Chinook didn't care, though. See how he is looking forward to soiling his sparkling clean coat in the mud?
