Introduction Welcome to the "Sanctuary", the website of the Praesidium Virgin Most Humble. Since this site is still under construction, only basic information about the Legion Of Mary and the Praesidium Virgin Most Humble are availabe for the meantime. What is the "Legion Of Mary"? The Legion Of Mary is a world-wide organization of Catholics who offer their services in performing spiritual works in the parish. It is the largest apostolic organization of lay people and is present in almost every country. It has also been approved by the last 6 Popes and has been endorsed by the 2nd Vatican Council. The primary purpose of the Legion is to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members and spread a deeper devotion to Our Blessed Mother. What is the "Praesidium Virgin Most Humble"? The Legion Of Mary is a complex organization composed of millions of members around the world. The smallest or most basic unit of the Legion Of Mary is called a "Praesidium". All Praesidia (plural) are named after the titles of Our Blessed Mother. One such example is "Virgin Most Humble". Virgin Most Humble is a Praesidium under the direction of the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Philippines. It is based and is operating in the Immaculate Concepcion sub-parish, Pinagkaisahan, sitios 4, 5 and 6. Objectives of the Legion Of Mary The primary purpose of the Legion is to give glory to God through the sanctification of its members and spread a deeper devotion to Our Blessed Mother. It endeavors to follow Mama Mary's example of Faith, Charity and Humility and spread the devotion to her by encouraging the recitation of the Rosary. It also perform apostolic works under the direction of the parish. Membership and Their Duties 1. Active members are the main workforce of the Legion. They are the ones who perform apostolic works in the community. The duties of an active member are: Attendance at the weekly meetings Daily recitation of the Catena (Legion Prayer) The performance of a weekly assignment The obligation to respect the confidential nature of certain matters learned during the meetings or work. 2. Auxiliary members are the "prayer warriors" so to speak. they support the Legion through their prayers. They are composed of lay Catholics, priests or any religious individual who are unable to undertake the duties of an active member. The duty of auxiliary members: They recite the prayers of the Tessera daily. The Tessera consists of the invocation and prayers of the Holy Spirit, 5 decades of the Rosary, the Catena and finally, the Concluding prayers.
