Hugo Barbosa de la Sierra

Writer, photographer and aspiring filmmaker.

I was born inside a cold hospital down on Mexico City, son of Architecht Augusto R. Barbosa and Rose Elena de la Sierra, I grew up to a world of plottings and drawings, later learnt about literature and classic filmmakers and decided to leave my studies as a Biologist to dedicate myself full time to a newly developing filmmaker career.

I used to draw comic like stuff using ink and pencils, now I've "upgraded" myself to software knowledge which provides me the tools to do nicer illustrations.

As a writer photographer, I've had experience collaborating inside CINEMANIA magazine pages, and working with people like Christian Zarabozo doing product shots and digital process.

Now I dedicate my days to develop my film proyects and I am working on a 2d animation adaptation of a classic tale by Oscar Wilde.

I am a strange man in a strange world, because no one can understand when one person is able to develop himself in many areas.

I am mostly into directing my own proyects, but they are sooooo damn expensive I've been having difficulties to get up. But i know one day, with God's help, I'll find my way into the primarly passion that drives me... film making!

I am a writer photographer (both traditional and digital) and aspiring filmmaker.

I studied Photo, I attended to a film school through a scholarship (but it wasn't what I was looking for) and I also won a Scholarship for screenwriting studies in CIGCITE. I also had studies over linguistics, and I plan on finishing them soon.

I currently manage software like Adobe CS2, 3d studio Max, Combustion, After Effects, and other rendering programs. I hadn't done a film just because I've been doing a lot of things in my life.

I've worked on film, tv and tv spots; as a collaborator of Cinemania Magazine and Excelsior's Arena; and I've done some work as a videographer and photographer with various companies and persons.

I've also worked as PA then as 2nd AD. I've worked on features, television, Tv spots and videoclips. I helped develop a Comcast minor show, that unfortunately got sold and turned into something we didn't like.

Now I am expanding my knowledge into digital animation in 2D and 3d, and possibly will produce an animation short based on a tale by Oscar Wilde.

I am also developing two horror films, one in the horror tradition set by Roman Polanski and another that is an odd piece in between horror and humor.

As a screenwriter I have two secret projects under my arm, which I hope they truly come true. I want my breakout into feature films!!

I have a short stories book in progress and a novel, a book about a very known american film maker, and got stuck with my thesis based in color perception.

In spare time, I really love drawing, reading and playing the guitar. I had some classical guitar studies and started my approach into music with the double bass, playing in one of latin america's largest juvenile orchestras.
