He has hydrocelphalus but has not required a shunt, craniostynotosis (which was corrected by 2 major reconstructive skull surgeries), liver problems, global delays and most recently a chromosomal abnormality (delection of the 2nd chromosome). He has benefited from early intervention as a baby and toddler but I wanted to do more for him as his mother and advocate. I knew I could work with him one on one and help him learn skills necessary in his life.
Yes, it has not been easy raising a special needs child but it has touched my life in words I could not express. If I had to do it all again, I would do it in a heartbaet if it meant having our son in our lives. It has been a reward to homeschool my son and see the spark in his eyes when he learns something new! I have never looked back at my decision to homeschool him. It is my hope that inspire those who have special needs children and to know that every child is special! Thank you for listening....
