From Lollywood
Saying "NO" to movies
By Ambareen Imran
Inteha has been an out and out Humayun Saeed film. The dashing, tall, dark and handsome hero had later been signed on by Sameena for her next, titled, Aik Anaar Chaar Bemaar? Well, he has been given the boot. Reason? No, they didn't have any disagreement of sorts, except that Humayun's wife was said to be creating problems for those related to the project. Evidently, she does not want Humayun to continue with films. (TV is all right!). She has lately been using her wifely clout to bar hubby dear from signing any film, not even Sameena's. Sameena on her part "wouldn't entertain anybody who has no sense of commitment" (to quote her own words). With madam prowling around the sets and giving mean look to heroines after they have given a romantic shot or two, Sameena decided to let go. You've won or maybe you haven't , Mrs. Humayun. Because Humayun could make a great career for himself in films.
Why all this fuss?
Unlike Meera who is extremely volatile at high temperatures, Resham is known to be a cool-cool girl when it comes to being sensible at odd times. But these days the babe seems to have more nakhras than anyone can take. First, she caused trouble during the making of Inteha, throwing tantrums about all sorts of things. This time she made famous choreographer Pappu Samrat dance to her tune when she flatly refused to do a few dance steps, due to which the shooting had to be put off. They actually had to retake each scene fifteen times to get it right. Well, Resham was never too talented in dance, but now her affiliation with the style mafia seems like she has made herself notorious for acting classy. Aagey dekhiye, who has to bear the loss the next time.
Another friend!
Neeli is said to be residing in Islamabad's I-8 sector. She was recently spotted by at the popular Italian eatery Pappasallis. She was simply stunning. A slim and very trim Neeli ambled in with a male friend. A girl and boy decided to approach her for autographs but they were embarrassed when upon seeing them approach her, Neeli turned her back towards them. Surely, Neeli didn't want to be disturbed, that was made very obvious, but for fans it is disappointing. Anyway, Neeli is still said to be sticking to her resolve of staying away from Lollywood.
Scandals and rumors - More to follow
After their statements on the Zee TV program Antakshari Atiqa Odho, Reema and Sajjad Ali are on a collision course with destiny. Especially Reema who despite calling a press conference has not been able to wade off the onslaught of criticism from religious and bureaucratic circles. Amidst these controversies, seems like the other Lollywood gals have got a god-send opportunity to sling mud on the lady who obviously threatens them with her top-star status. Meera heads the list with her statements and hasty remarks. One thing, however, that she failed to remember is that it is she who always looked for any who-penny-worth chance to rub shoulders with the Indians, and it is she who publicly declared that she was one of the invitees at Bollywood actress Kajol's wedding that was held in February this year. Apart from which most of Lollywood gals just can't help daydream about getting into the Hollywood streamline. Well, we don't blame them for day-dreaming, only that there is no way they should indulge in any sort of irresponsible statements, especially in the international media, and that before throwing stones at others they should at least know where on earth do they themselves stand. For cheap popularity?
Celebrating the defeat
Despite the dismal performance of the national team in the World Cup final, the world Cup Party arranged by Avari Lahore was a great success. All present drowned the distaste of the defeat in the good food, music and dance that was provided. The music was great and the guests to the hilt utilized the lovely, wooden dance floor. Fun loving couples literally had a whale of a time till the wee hours of the morning. One Michael Jackson lookalike with his scintillating dance steps was a major crowd puller with another mesmerizing mover from Islamabad being a close second.
More competition
Recently there's been a lot of buzz around the studios that Saima is feeling threatened
thanks to the return of Anjuman and the grand entry of Sana in Punjabi films. Well, at the
moment it seems the stars are shining on her and so is Syed Noor. So she need not worry
much. She's had several hits to her name now including the latest Nikki Jai Haan, which is
still very strong at the box office. But, she had better watch her every step. Now that's
just a sincere suggestion.
