Sons of the Desert
28th UK Convention 2007
The 28th UK Convention of the International Laurel and Hardy Society - Sons of the Desert, was held by The Midnight Patrol Tent of "The Potteries" in North Staffordshire at The Quality Hotel, in Hanley,over the Bank Holiday weekend of 4th - 7th May 2007.
Highlights included a Christmas themed opening night, a Way Out West themed night with casino and barn dance entertainment, a film show, Eric Woods quiz, Sons Entertain, memorabilia sales, charity auction and raffle - which raised over �700, live music from The Avalon Boys and Stool Pigeon, Tom McGrath's play on The Boys, and a trip to Gladstone Pottery Museum and Trentham Monkey Forest on two old double-decker buses!
SPECIAL GUEST FOR THE WEEKEND WAS OUR GANG STAR JEAN DARLING
OVER 90 DELEGATES WERE BOOKED IN AT THE HOTEL !! Including Stan's nephew - Huntley Jefferson Woods.
Dr R John DeSanto attended the convention, and was selling copies of his new book "So What About The Others?"
