B98/10 - /10B specifications |
The B98/10 is a two seater, open cockpit sports racing car, eligible for FIA Sports
Car Championship, GrandAm and European Championships, Lola ’SR1' car can be
modified for the LMP900 class ( ALMS ) and Le Mans.
A
major wind tunnel test programme has focussed on four objectives for
aerodynamic performance: High lift/drag ratios from low to high downforce
conditions High front-end downforce to balance rear wing capability Minimum
pitch sensitivity with ride height variation Optimum engine air intake
pressure. Among the specific features are quick access to dampers and anti-roll
bars without the need to remove bodywork, to achieve maximum rack time during
short practice sessions. Both the 6-speed sequential gearbox and the cooling
system are extremely efficient, and the steering geometry has benefited from
careful analysis to give consistently low steering loads for pure driver
feedback.
The
car has been designed to accept both turbo and naturally aspirated engines -
the packages available are the 4.0I BMW V8, Ford pushrod 5.1I V8, and the
Porsche flat-6 turbo. ( source Lola Cars )
